چکیده
The article reviews and summarizes the experience of validating forensic expert techniques in Russian Federal Centre Forensic Science Ministry Justice Federation. authors point out methodological features practical implementation validation procedure. They demonstrate that specificity, diversity, complexity objects study require classification applied methods terms metrology, identification main parameters quantitative qualitative methods, organization experiments, evaluation using mathematical analysis methods. also propose to divide into two types: measurement (FMT) testing (FTT). Based on generalization information presented several regulatory documents scientific publications, following are identified for FMT: metrological characteristics or properties method (specificity, linearity, sensitivity, range determined values, detection limit, determination limit) quality indicators (precision, correctness, accuracy result, uncertainty). When FTT, it is proposed evaluate reliability competence expert. An experiment assess performed enough control samples with established controlled participation a sufficient number experts. Requirements provided. The give examples probabilistic methods: microscopic examination textile fibers gunshot residue scanning electron microscopy X-ray microanalysis. these assessed by calculating likelihood ratio, specificity interpreting results FMT FTT noted. The decision compliance requirements made if interval extended uncertainty obtained result does not exceed tolerance field. In absence tolerances, considered suitable solving tasks values indicator do during validation. For low proportion false positive negative determining presence/absence indicators, as well experimentally confirmed validation, suitability its intended use

متن کاملForensic experts' perceptions of expert bias.
How do expert witnesses perceive the possible biases of their fellow expert witnesses? Participants, who were attendees at a workshop at the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law were asked to rate for their biasing potential a number of situations that might affect the behavior of an opposing expert. A Rasch analysis produced a linear scale as to the perceived biasing potential of these diffe...
